Rotary Theme - "Celebrate Rotary"

This year our Club celebrated 100 years of Rotary.  Fundraising included our annual raffle, BBQ's, a joint dinner auction with the Lions Club and a joint food and wine festival with the Rotary Club of Geelong Bayside.  Projects included the major renovations to the Torquay Scout Hall, donation of $10,000 to Spring Creek House, planting over 1000 trees, and our annual Nelson Park debutante ball.  As always we hosted an exchange student.   Membership showed a positive growth.  We hosted the first ever "Men's Health Night" with David Parkin as guest speaker with an attendance over 300.   It was with great sadness that we mourned the death of PP Rob Emmett.  Following this untimely death the club established the Rob Emmett Fund to help with our charitable efforts.  Vocational visits were made to Barwon Water Sewerage Plant (on a hot summer night!) and Parliament House.
