Rotary Theme - "Mankind is our Business"

This was the year of membership growth starting at a low of 18 and increasing 44% to finish with 26 and we were awarded the Lange District Membership Trophy at the District Conference.  Our nominee, Paralympic swimmer, Daniel Bell, was awarded a Certificate of Commendation in the national Shine on Awards.  $3,000 was allocated to a matching grant for the Dental Institute in Tonga and we sent a FAIM team to Tonga to work on the nurses home roof.  We pledged $3,600 to Rotary Club of Yercaud in District 2980 in India for the purchase of an ambulance and PP Maggis Isom and PP Trevor Brown went to India immunizing locals against polio.  Our annual BellsBeach parking and raffle raised $9,000 and we again assisted with the "High Tide" festival.  We donated $5,000 to playground equipment and a new flagpole for the new TorquayPrimary School.  Alice Wilson was sponsored as our exchange student to Denmark and we co-hosted GSE teams from the Philippines and Denmark.  PP Maggie Isom and PP Bob Merritt were awarded Paul Harris Fellow recognition.
