A student from Dubbo, Georgina Bennett, was sponsored by the club to attend the RYLA Seminar in NSW.   Marie Malherbe arrived from South Africa as our fourth inward student.  Stacey was selected as our outward student.  We sponsored Craig Bryant as a candidate for an Ambassadorial Scholarship and although performing very well was unsuccessful at District interviews.  Leigh Thomson was sponsored by the club in "Operation Livewire" and he did very well finishing second overall in this project sponsored which was sponsored by  Shell Australia.  Another very successful International Night was held with excellent support from students and Rotarians from neighbouring clubs.  Simon Steel was sponsored to attend the SummerEngineeringSchool in Adelaide in January.  We commenced the construction of a Rotunda/BBQ facility on the foreshore adjacent to the Torquay Lifesaving Club, and carried out repairs to the steps leading down to the beach near Jan Juc Surf Lifesaving Club.  Our major fundraisers were a Dinner Auction, Bell's Beach Easter parking, an Open Weekend at Russeldown and a "Wine Appreciation Night" with the Rotary Clubs of Ballan and Hoppers Crossing.   We won the Grainger Shield for the top club in District attendance competition.   PP Howard Randall was presented with a Paul Harris Recognition.
