We had a well attended meeting on Monday night at The Lakehouse (our new venue at Kithbrooke Park). It was lovely to see partners Mary, Jill & Brenda as well.
Neil opened the meeting with a toast to Australia’s Winter Olympians (who were ahead of Canada & Great Britain on the medal tally at that time). We heard from Directors on a number of matters -
1. Cowrie Market BBQ (good result with Gail B arranging another generous donation from Coles);
2. Mike R reminded us that we have a Vocational Visit to Kieser on MONDAY night at 5:30pm followed by a meal at Point Danger Beach House Cafe, 16 The Esplanade.
3. Neil then followed with reminder of JOINT MEETING WEDNESDAY 25 February with Grovedale/Waurn Ponds at the White Eagle House, 46 Fellmongers Rd, Breakwater. Please consider car pooling- I can take a couple of members so reach out!
Lesley, as co-editor of the Bulletin, asked members if they were opening the Bulletin and reading it. She also asked members how they like to receive Club information and the majority were in favour of the Bulletin.
After our meal we were introduced to Mia De Rauch and Kate Walsh who are the organisers of the Inaugural Surfcoast Writers Festival being held on Saturday 27 June 2026. The program of author talks and panel discussions sounds very interesting and they are working hard to launch this literary event. The idea of running a Pop Up Book Fair has been pitched to us and we are taking it under consideration at board level.
So remember we have TWO Rotary meetings next week (and a third if you’re a Board member…meeting at Kelly’s place, 9:00am Tuesday 24 February). However, we will then have the following two Monday’s off.
