Paul and I took Leo on an adventure in the new year, departing Torquay and heading to South Australia.
Leo had some unique Aussie experiences…meeting emus and koalas at Tower Hill Wildlife Park near Warrnambool, seeing some “big” things, snorkelling in a sinkhole, swimming in Australia’s largest river at Murray Bridge SA on a 45c day, visiting the amazing Tarancoola Cave, Umpherston Sinkhole Gardens (with possums) & seeing the Blue Lake in Mt Gambier SA. We then headed to Adelaide where the weather continued to be 40c+. We caught up with family, had dinner in Little Italy, stayed in the Barossa and visited the CBD.
Then it was across the Mallee (with some silo art stops) to Sea Lake via Lake Tyrell then onto Swan Hill for the night. Dinner at Java Spice (if you know you know 😉), photo with the Cod, checked out the greens at Murray Downs (yes Paul we know you played there🏌🏻) & finished off with breakfast at Spoons Riverside overlooking the paddle steamer and Pioneer Settlement.
More pics here Lucky to get home through central Victoria away from the fires with a delightful stop in Maldon (Leo is a fan of our pies 🥧). Home after an enjoyable week in some of the hottest weather covering just over 1800kms. I think Leo has seen more of Oz than a lot of Australians! Kelly (Host)
