Hello Members and Friends,
I hope that everyone enjoyed the time together with family and friends over the Easter Break. Personally, Judy and I spent the time with our family members at the Bellarine Bayside Caravan Park at Portarlington. The weather was near perfect until Monday when we received some much-needed rain.
Vale PDG Anderew Suggett OAM
I was saddened to learn yesterday of the passing of PDG Andrew Suggett OAM from RC Warrnambool Daybreak.
Andrew had a medical episode whilst at golf on Thursday and was transferred to Royal Melbourne Hospital where he passed away on Friday.
Andrew was District Governor during my Presidential year with RC Geelong Central in 2006-07 and had a profound impact on me personally and on each of his Presidents (and their Clubs) leading up to and during the year.
Andrew was one of the prime instigators and driver of many Rotary and Community Projects in the Warrnambool area of which the establishment of the Rotary Community House at the Warrnambool Hospital was a most notable achievement.
Andrew was known to many members of our club, each who will be saddened by his passing.
Andrew is survived by his wife Betty and a loving family who will miss him deeply.
This Week’s Meeting
Just a quick note to advise a change of speaker for our meeting on Monday night.
Graeme Stockton has agreed to step in at short notice to speak to us about the ecology of Spring Creek and its significance.
Those of you who know of Graeme from his years of work to save the Spring Creek Valley from overdevelopment will already be aware of his passion and commitment. Those who don't are in for a treat.
Note: Dinner registrations are now closed. If you haven't registered, you are more than welcome to come along to listen to Graeme without being fed or join online via the Teams link on the website.
