President’s Report 12th February 2024
What an Awesome Team, What an Awesome Event
I feel humbled and privileged to make this 'morning after' report following our Motor Show yesterday.
Thank you to the team of Torquay Members, Partners, Family, Friends of RCOT and the long-time supporters of this event who made it all possible. Thankyou also to the members of RC Grovedale Waurn Ponds who supported our event as well.
A huge thankyou and acknowledgement to PE Bruce Turner our Motor Show Coordinator and his Committee who essentially made it all happen and have spent many months planning and organising in the lead up to yesterday. Bruce will prepare a report with photos over the next week or so. So, keep an eye out in future Bulletins.
The following photos are of some of the RCOT Team enjoying some well-earned refreshments at The Shed having packed away the show paraphernalia for another year. It was an early night following a very busy day.
Please checkout the Events Calendar further on in the Bulletin.
Importantly our next meeting will be on Wednesday 21st February which will be a joint meeting with RC Grovedale Waurn Ponds (our hosts) and RC Highton at Mercy Place Rice Village 6:00 for 6:30pm. Registrations have closed for this meeting.
Our next meeting on Monday 26th February will be face to face (plus hybrid), where our guest will be Amy Hunter.
There are now 23 members and partners from Torquay who are attending Rotary Conference. Never been to one before? Then this is it. We will have a critical mass of members there. We have a club dinner on Friday night and a breakfast the next morning. If you are still procrastinating then don’t – just commit. Stay at a Motel (preferably choose the Commodore) or perhaps camp or book a cabin at the Blue Lake Caravan Park. Most members are staying at these venues.
